Are you or someone that you love seeking high quality men's dress shoes or a dapper pair of kicks? Allow me the opportunity to bless you. I've been dubbed "The Charlotte Shoe Man" (#CLTshoeMan) through my ministry to lift soles and souls.
What I do.
I am your neighbor, Adam S. Brooks. I find vintage and high quality used men's dress shoes and restore them. I then gift these to people in my communities of Charlotte (#CLT), North Carolina and Santa Cruz, California. While still imperfect, a little time, care, and love can be transformative for shoes... and people. It's my way to love others as Christ has loved me. How much do the shoes cost?
There is absolutely no cost for the shoes that I offer as they are my free unfettered gift to you. Any neighbor (rich, poor, and those between) may receive this gift. Those with specific needs or hardship may be given priority. I appreciate offers of payment, but will respectfully decline.
What's the catch?
What's the catch? Faith working by love. The two greatest commandments are to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” and “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:36-40 NIV) Even small intentional acts of love make positive change. I encourage you pay it forward in your own way and in your own time. Be a generous blessing to someone else. Fruit of the Spirit. (Galatians 5:22-23)
How do I receive a pair?
If you would appreciate a nice pair of shoes, have a specific need, or know someone who would benefit from this, please contact me. I will require some basic information like shoe size and any preferences in styles or colors. Once a pair to meet your specific needs is found, we will reconnect.
Serving neighbors and community.
Neighbor, let me bless you as Christ has me. It's just a small expression of appreciation, but may these shoes bless your next steps with Him. Note that in serving neighbors, I look to our local community. I do not generally ship/mail shoes. We will meet in-person to ensure that they fit. I may offer a brief prayer to the person as we conclude.
Join the group.
Join the Facebook group for updates and dress shoes as they become available. I often will share newly-prepared pairs to this online group before they transition to the public Marketplace or other online services. This is currently your best avenue to be in-the-know as new pairs release.
Get on the Watch List
If you have a specific shoes want, need, or hardship to keep in mind, let me know. I keep a "Watch List" of requests and try to reconnect (as time allows) with people as shoes are prepared that may meet their specific needs. Submit the request form to be considered for this watch list. You can also reach out via the contact info below.
Please understand that sometimes is takes weeks to connect the right need with the right shoe. I appreciate your patience.
